Meet the Team

Yaneisy was born in Camaguey, Cuba and came to the United States in 2008 with her family. In 2010, Yaneisy started her dental career while attending Sanford Brown Institute, Tampa FL for dental assisting. She also obtained her Expanded Function Dental Assisting & Radiology Certification in 2011. She joined Dr. Powless’s Team in January 2012 and is a gentle and caring highly skilled assistant. She treats our patients like family and proud to be a part of our dental team. She works full time, has a family and is currently enrolled in school to become a Registered Dental Hygienist.

Daniella (Ella) was born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico and joined our team in June 2017. After attending UMA for Dental Assisting, she also obtained her Expanded Functions Certification in 2011. Ella has 2 beautiful children, 1 daughter and 1 son in elementary school. She decided to go into dentistry after her son was born and her daughter was having dental issues. She wanted to go into a field that would not only be her career, but would be on e that would greatly benefit her children too. As our lead assistant, she keeps everything running smoothly.

Katelyn was born and raised right here in Tampa. A mother of a beautiful 5 year old daughter and a bride to be, she is always on the go. Always wanting to be a dentist since she was a little girl, she graduated Sanford Brown College with an Expanded Functions in dental assisting starting her dental career in 2013. She believes if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. Katelyn worked with Dental Staffing looking for the right team to become a part of and we are glad she found our team!

Marisol comes to us from Miami, Florida. She joined Dr Powless in 2003 and has helped the Dr and team to build the Practice & Patient Care to the level of excellence it is today. She is highly qualified in all areas of dentistry and our practice. She is currently our Insurance and Hospital Case Coordinator. She resides in Tampa with her husband and their two teenage/adult children and has her parents next door. Incredibly Marisol, along with her dental career, her husband and two grown teenagers to manage, finds the time to help her husband with the family business-Green Image Lawn & Pest Control.

Hannah was born and raised in Tampa and she brings to our team outstanding business skills in patient treatment coordination, insurance coordination and marketing. Hannah’s experience is 2nd to none and she is a great asset to our team. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of South Florida but soon realized her love for dental. She began her journey in the dental field in 2013, and her path lead her to Dr. Powless’s team in 2016. Her free time is spent with her 3 year old daughter, fiancé, and family.

Donna was born in Virginia and has lived in Florida since she was 6 years old. She was honored & blessed to join our excellent team in August of 2017. She brings to our practice an extensive background in dentistry which includes being a dental assistant, dental hygienist and dental coordinator. In her free time is spent with family, running 5k’s for various charities, working with the youth at her church, cooking and baking.

Mido was born and raised in Tunisia, North Africa. He is fluent in 3 languages- English, French, and Arabic. He relocated to the Tampa, Florida at the age of 19 and aspired to work in the dental field like his sister who is a dentist in Tunisia. In 2016 Mido graduated with honors from Hillsborough Community College with an Associates in Arts and an Associates in Science in Dental Hygiene. He also obtained his certification for local anesthesia. Mido joined Dr. Powless’s team in the summer 2016 as our full-time hygienist. He aspires to continue his education and go to dental school in the near future. In his free time he volunteers in dental missions and is active with soccer and the gym.

Diane is a Florida native and has lived in Tampa her whole life. She graduated from the dental hygiene program at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has held several positions in the dental field giving her a diverse dental career. She worked as an outside sales representative for Pro-Dentec and Colgate, an instructor for Hillsborough Community College Dental Hygiene Program and a dental hygiene examiner for the Florida Department of Health. Diane has been working in private practice for most of her career and joined Dr. Powless in 2001. She enjoys her free time with her daughter and two beautiful, twin grandchildren.

Tamara moved to Tampa in 1985 after completing her Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Missouri in 1981. She raised her children on Davis Island and South Tampa and has been practicing dental hygiene in South Tampa and Davis Island for thirty-five years. She has been employed by Dr. Powless for the last ten years. Tamara’s specialty areas are in Periodontal and Implant Restorative dental work. She has been on a mission trip to Haiti and is currently working with Mission Smiles, which is a mission for the homeless in Tampa. Tamara’s experience and expertise, accompanied with her being highly skilled, is invaluable to our team and our patients’ care
