Dr. Larry Hendry was born in Tampa Florida. He grew up in the small (at least it was then!) town of Hudson. Dr. Hendry graduated from Gulf High school in New Port Richey, Florida. He won a football scholarship to the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA.
Education
Dr. Hendry graduated with distinction from VMI in 1975 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He received his doctorate from UF College of Dentistry in 1979.
Dr. Hendry has also completed a number of post-doctoral studies including two, two year fellowships in comprehensive dentistry. Additionally, he has fulfilled the requirements and was designated a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1992 and a Master in 1996.
Affiliations
He has been a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, Central Florida District Dental Association, and a member of the Woehler Research Group, Inc. (the oldest continuously registered dental study club in the United States). Dr. Hendry presently is licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Florida.
Free Time
Dr. Hendry lives in Fruitland Park with his wife, Kathy and has three sons.
Dr. Hendry and Dr. Powless have been good friends since meeting many years ago in their research group. He stepped in to help during Dr. Powless’ medical leave and we didn’t want him to part ways! Dr. Hendry has since become a part-time associate dentist in our office!
His Professional Practices
Dr. Hendry has been in private practice in Florida since July of 1982. Before that, he served in the Army for three years.
